About This Spot

Stepping into The Yellow Deli on Pearl Street feels a bit like crossing into a quiet retreat from the bustling rhythm of Boulder. The soft murmur of conversations mingles with the scent of fresh-baked bread and warmed spices, inviting you to slow down and settle into a simpler, gentler pace. There’s a distinctly cozy, almost rustic charm here—a vibe that recalls a tucked-away cabin where time stretches and the outside world softens.

This is not a place overwhelmed by choices, but one that embraces a thoughtful selection of offerings. The kitchen works quietly to deliver familiar, hearty meals that feel homemade and nurturing. Whether you’re lured by the comfort of a piping hot bowl of soup or the warmth of a cinnamon roll fresh from the oven, there’s an understated care threading through every bite. The tea house side brings its own calm, with blends like yerba mate creating a gentle, grounding ritual rather than just a simple caffeine fix.

The Yellow Deli’s atmosphere strikes a balance between welcoming and unpretentious. Friendly faces behind the counter add a layer of kindness, making the space feel like a gathering point for locals and travelers alike—a place where you might find yourself lingering longer than intended, tucked into a corner with a cup of hot apple cider or a slice of cream cheese pie.

All around, the experience is one of warmth and quiet connection. The hum of the deli, the woodsy decor, and the wholesome flavors create a slice of calm amid the city’s energy. It’s a spot where simplicity isn’t just about the menu but how you feel when you’re there—comfortable, at home, and a little bit rediscovered.

Like going back to 1973, the menu is definitely a flash back. Food is simple, not a million choices but everything is homemade and so good. Bread is astounding, especially when soaked in butter. The atmosphere inside is also like a trip back in time to a cabin in the woods. Price is actually amazing considering it’s on Pearl Street. Yes they are a Christian sect that follows teachings from the first century of Christ, from what I read on their website, which has a very informative “about us” tab. They don’t preach or get religious unless you want to start a conversation about it. Don’t go if their religion bothers you.

There was a very nice woman that made me an amazing breakfast sandwich this past Thursday. She was very pleasant and that was one of the best breakfast sandwiches. I’ve had in a long time definitely going back.

Came in late on a night dinner at home didn’t go right. The Yellow Deli was here for me, to finally find that perfect bowl of late night soup I’ve been after! Their baked goods and hot apple cider is also not to be missed. Everything tasted like wholesome comfort food like I’d just gone to my grandparents house. The people and atmosphere are also so welcoming it feels like I was right at home. Even though it was my first visit it definitely won’t be my last.

We tried their special fish soup and the carrot cake—both were amazing! Seriously comforting and full of flavor. The staff were so kind, and the atmosphere is just what you need to relax and unwind. One of those hidden gems that makes you want to stay a little longer.

My favorite sandwiches in Colorado, everything is always fresh and delicious! The papaya juice is also amazing!

Quaint deli on Pearl Street that would have walked passed with out notice. Thankfully a map and reviews brought us to this quaint little tuck away restaurant. Part of two for lunch. All the staff are uber friendly and make you feel at home. Wasn’t rue about getting soup of the day and they offered a sample (see pic) - turns out the cheesy potato soup is delicious! Even better tasting is the Deli Rose sandwich. Most flavor sandwich I have had in decades. Also had Vonn salad - no complaints! We are out of towners and wish we had a location closer to us!
